Lost in Manzanillo

So after Adriana had gotten us lost (if you're realizing you missed the first beach entry, scroll down about two more) in Guadalajara looking for the not-so-recently non existent tortas ahogadas, I wasn't thrilled when I heard her on the phone to "mi amor" telling him that she didn't have a key to the house.  It's Mexico, though, so I decided to leave the panicking to someone else.  Since no one else seemed to be panicked, I followed their lead.  Turns out her amor (who I would later find out is boyfriend, not husband) had hidden a key for us in a coconut on the wall surrounding the house.
We hoisted Liliana up to gather the coconut.  We successfully entered the (three-bedroom- uh oh!) house and explored the property.  The whole house is HUGE, but she rents out two apartment-type sections of the house.  There was a bonus room that was separate from the house that had a pool table.  It was kind of like a tree house.  Under it was the "patio" where we would spend plenty of time over the next few days.
After we got settled and unpacked (more or less), we decided to go to the grocery store.  We all piled into Adriana's 4-Runner.  (There were six of us)  Liliana had collected 100 pesos from each person to add to the snacks and breakfast foods at the house.  She didn't have all the money from everyone, but we had 1100 pesos with us.  The rest of the group would contribute to the seafood for ceviche.  We shopped for about an hour and checked out.  Our total?  For 16 people, breakfast for 6 days, snacks and soft drinks: 1104 pesos!  Eighty-five bucks; not bad!
From there, we took a tour of the city.  It's more of a big town I think.  We saw the hotels (especially the one that her man owns/manages) and then saw the beaches.  She took us to a neighborhood "estilo gringo" that looked like we were in the US: no security walls, lots of grass.
By that time, we were hungry again, so we went to one of the downtowns.  This "city" is made from three tiny towns.  They all just meshed once roads got better.  We made our way to one of them for some delicious barbecue tacos.  I wasn't starving, but they certainly hit the spot.
As a thank you, I paid for our meals.  I really do love being able to do that.
